The trend towards the electrification of the powertrain continues due to the ongoing quest for reduced emissions. As a result, new noise phenomena which were previously not noticeable have become a new focus for NVH development.
These noise phenomena have become audible because of the missing masking of the internal combustion engine and they can be annoying to the driver due to their tonality. An optimized solution for the reduction of these sounds requires simulation-based noise prediction in power supplies and power electronics.
At AVL our electro-acoustic simulation approach enables us to identify noise sources and reduce noise as it typically occurs in all types of electric and electronic devices. Our analysis covers all relevant components such as e-machine, DCDC converters and power electronics.
Noise Emission Prediction by Simulation
