Press Release: E-Supercar Manufacturer Rimac Automobili Trusts in AVL Testing Equipment

The Croatian sportscar manufacturer Rimac Automobili uses the battery test and emulation system AVL E-STORAGE BTE™ for the development of its electric high-performance vehicles. This way, the OEM meets its own high standards of quality. AVL, with its most modern technologies and tailor-made service, plays a significant role in contributing to a world of clean mobility.

Batteries, e-motors and inverters are the key components in modern powertrain configurations, such as hybrid, pure electric or fuel cell powered vehicles and have to be tested thoroughly before put into operation.

Mate Rimac, founder and CEO of Rimac Automobili, commented: “A technology company at its core, Rimac Automobili is highly vertically integrated, developing and manufacturing high-performance electric vehicles and high-tech systems and solutions for the automotive industry. Using AVL battery test systems enables us to maintain the highest quality standards of our products.”

Luigi Giordano, Global Business Segment Manager Electrification Test Systems, AVL: “Having the chance of supporting Rimac’s fast development cycle was a great honor for the AVL Electrification Team. We were aware of the challenges and supported Rimac with valuable product input for the advanced application area of high-performance batteries and powertrain systems.”

Rimac Automobili was founded in Sveta Nedelja near Zagreb, Croatia, and develops and produces high-performance electric vehicles, powertrains and battery systems. Rimac Automobili has 250 employees and is growing to become a full electrification partner to the global OEMs. Annual sales revenues reached EUR 6.2 million in 2016.

AVL is the world’s largest independent company for the development, simulation and testing of powertrains (hybrid, combustion engines, transmission, electric drive, batteries and software) for passenger cars, trucks and large engines. AVL has more than 8,600 employees all over the world. In 2016, sales revenues reached EUR 1.4 billion.
