In order to comply with stringent CO2 and pollutant emission regulations, electric drive systems play a key role in the transport industry. In this context, integrated e-axles are also becoming increasingly important thanks to their higher efficiencies and compact architectures for future generations of electric trucks and buses.

In this webinar, experts from AVL compare different e-axle architectures for heavy duty trucks. Cuneyt Dagdeviren, Product Manager Electrification Truck & Bus at AVL, and Jürgen Tochtermann, Lead Engineer, AVL Commercial Driveline & Tractor Engineering GmbH, will discuss the pros and cons of various structures, and ways to meet HD vehicle performance requirements, highest system efficiency demand and tight packaging boundaries.

Also featured in this presentation will be the definition of an appropriate e-axle and transmission topology, the correct specification of the e-motor/motors, the determination of necessary gear speeds and the definition of the shifting system.
